The conditions in plain words
What the UnionPay Korea channel actually requires.
The discount rate is 15% in China, Vietnam, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan / 12% elsewhere.
A single booking can save at most USD 100 per booking.
It runs 2026-03-16~2026-08-31. Book outside that window and the channel reverts to the standard price.
Separately from the booking date, the stay itself must fall within 2026-03-16~2026-10-31.
It applies to prepaid bookings only. Choosing pay-at-property or pay-later drops the discount.
It applies only when you pay in USD. Set the comparison currency to USD to see what you would actually be charged.
You have to type the promotion code UPI15 (the five listed countries, twice per card) / UPI12 (elsewhere, once per card) at checkout. Following the link alone does not apply it.
Eligible cards: UnionPay credit and debit cards. A different card from the same bank may not qualify.
Excluded: Not applied when interest-free instalments are chosen

If the discount did not apply
- Whether you arrived through the UnionPay Korea channel link. Agoda serves a different price list by the route you come through, so the same room opened in the app or from plain search never shows this rate.
- Whether you chose a prepaid rate. Picking pay at the property drops you out of the promotion.
- Whether the payment settles in USD. Letting it authorise in your home currency adds a double conversion fee and can void the discount.
- Whether you entered code UPI15 (the five listed countries, twice per card) / UPI12 (elsewhere, once per card) at checkout. It does not apply on its own.
- Whether the card qualifies: UnionPay credit and debit cards. A card from the same issuer that is not on this list will not trigger it.
- Whether you hit an exclusion: Not applied when interest-free instalments are chosen
- Whether you booked a single room. Several rooms of different types, or a package booking, usually loses the discount.
Against the other Korea channels
Of the 19 card channels running in Korea today, one publishes a higher rate than this one. The highest is 16 per cent, on Mastercard Korea
The channels do not stack with each other, and neither do they stack with a promo code. Only one discount is counted, so the one to use is whichever sits highest of the cards actually in your wallet.
Other UnionPay channels
An issuer often runs more than one channel and the rates differ. Open both and pay through the cheaper one.
How to use it
Paste a hotel link and compare; the UnionPay Korea channel price is ranked with the others. If it wins, open it and pay with that card.
Even with the right card, the discount can be skipped by promotion dates, minimum spend or prepaid rules, so check the final amount at checkout.
