How to use Tripdify, the order to book a hotel for less, how to split costs with the people you travel with, and the questions we get most, all in one place.
User guide
This guide walks through the whole process of pasting one hotel link and comparing Agoda's channel prices alongside prices on other booking sites. If you are new, read from the top; if you have a question about one specific screen, jump straight to that section.
Step 1: Install the Tripdify Saver extension
Automatic price comparison requires the Tripdify Saver extension. It is listed on the Chrome Web Store, so install it from the button on this site's Extension page, or search the store for Tripdify Saver and click Add to Chrome.
Read the permissions in the confirmation dialog and click Add extension; that is the whole install. Chromium based browsers such as Edge, Brave and Whale install it from the same store page.
Installation is complete when Tripdify Saver appears in the list with its switch turned on. Come back to the Tripdify tab and the Extension connected indicator appears near the input box on its own. There is no need to reload; if it still does not appear, see the Troubleshooting section below.
The extension also adds a small floating button to Agoda hotel pages. While viewing a hotel on Agoda, click this button to open the Tripdify site with the current page URL already filled in. The button only takes you to the site and does nothing else.
Step 2: Copy the hotel page URL
On the booking site you want to compare, choose your dates and number of guests first, then copy the entire URL from the address bar of the hotel's detail page. The dates must be part of the URL so we know which stay to compare.
An Agoda URL looks like https://www.agoda.com/ko-kr/hotel-name/hotel/tokyo-jp.html?checkIn=2026-10-05&los=2 and needs the checkIn value plus either los (length of stay) or checkOut. Mobile and country-specific addresses such as m.agoda.com or agoda.co.kr are recognized as the same hotel.
For Booking.com, paste a detail page URL like booking.com/hotel/jp/hotel-name.html?checkin=2026-10-05&checkout=2026-10-07. For Trip.com, paste a detail page URL like trip.com/hotels/…-hotel-detail-…/?checkin=…&checkout=….
Expedia URLs look like …Hotel-Information?chkin=…&chkout=…, and Airbnb URLs look like airbnb.com/rooms/listing-id?check_in=…&check_out=…. Whichever site you use, any detail page URL that includes date parameters is recognized.
URLs of search result lists or map views are not recognized. The URL must be the detail page of a single property. If the dates are missing you will see a message saying there is no check-in date, so pick the dates on the site and copy the URL again.
Step 3: Price comparison mode and Link-only mode
The main screen has two modes. Price comparison has the extension open each channel's page, read the actual price, and rank the channels. Link-only mode simply builds a list of Agoda links, one per channel, without using the extension.
On a PC with the extension connected, we recommend Price comparison. On mobile, or anywhere you cannot install the extension, use Link-only mode to get the links and open them one by one to check the prices yourself.
Channel price comparison is available only for Agoda URLs. If you paste a Booking.com, Trip.com, Expedia, or Airbnb URL, you will immediately see a comparison panel for finding the same property on other sites instead of a list of channel links.
Step 4: What happens on the progress screen
When you click Price comparison, the extension opens the Agoda hotel page for each channel in a background tab, one at a time, and closes the tab as soon as it has read the price. Tabs opening and closing on their own is normal, so just leave them alone.
The screen shows the number of channels checked out of the total, plus the cheapest channel found so far. We wait up to 30 seconds per channel, and the whole run usually takes between 10 seconds and 1 minute depending on how many channels you search and your network conditions.
While it runs, it is safest not to close the Agoda tabs yourself or minimize the browser. Once every channel has been checked, you are taken to the results screen automatically.
If a search takes too long, stop it any time with "Cancel search" on the progress screen. Once three or more channels have prices, "Show results" gives you the partial comparison.
Clicking the extension icon shows the search running right now and how many price watches are saved, and lets you stop the search from there.
Step 5: How to read the results
The results table shows the nightly price and the final total for each channel, sorted from the lowest final total up. The final total is the tax- and service-charge-inclusive amount shown on the Agoda page, so it filters out cases where the headline price looks cheap but the amount grows at checkout.
The cheapest channel is highlighted and labeled as the lowest price out of the channels checked. The Savings value on each row is the difference, in amount and percentage, compared with the most expensive channel's final total in that search.
Rows marked Card payment required are card issuer channels. That price applies only when you pay with that issuer's card, so if you do not have the card, choose the cheapest channel without the mark instead.
The Free cancellation mark means the Agoda page listed that room as free to cancel. Confirm the cancellation deadline and conditions on Agoda's booking screen. The comparison is based on the cheapest room, so also make sure the room type is the one you want.
Card channel settings: choosing channels to search and preferred cards
Open card channel settings on the main screen to see the channel list divided into card issuers, general, and reference. Turn off a channel's Search switch to leave it out of the comparison; fewer channels searched also means a shorter comparison.
Preferred marks the cards you actually hold. When several channels show the same price, preferred channels are listed first, so turning it on for just one or two cards you use often makes the results easier to read.
Reference channels are excluded from searches by default. You can turn them on yourself if needed. Settings are saved in your browser and applied to your next search as well.
Checking other sites
Below the results screen and the Link-only screen there is a panel titled Check other sites too. It shows links pre-filled with the same property, dates, and search terms in six rows: stays, flights, activities and tickets, car rental, travel insurance, and eSIM.
Stays link to Trip.com, Hotellook, and Expedia; flights to Aviasales, Trip.com, and Skyscanner; activities to Klook, GetYourGuide, Viator, KKday, and MyRealTrip; car rental to Discover Cars; insurance to SafetyWing; and eSIM to Airalo. If you are browsing in Korean, the flight origin is set to Seoul.
When a Hotellook lookup, which aggregates the lowest prices across many booking sites, is available, a line at the top of the results says how much other sites start from and what percentage cheaper that is than Agoda, with a link to go there. If the Agoda channel price is cheaper, a single line says the Agoda channel price is currently lower.
Prices on other sites are values those sites have indexed, so they can differ from the actual checkout screen. After you go there, check the room conditions and the final amount again before booking.
Search history and Group by stay
Every time a search finishes, the result is saved to your browser's search history. Open History in the top menu to see the hotel, dates, lowest price, and search date at a glance; click an entry to reopen the results screen from that time.
Turn on Group by stay to bundle searches that share the same check-in and check-out dates. It makes it easy to see which hotel was cheapest when you compared several candidates for one trip.
When you open an older result, a note tells you when that search was made. Prices keep changing, so right before booking, use Search again to get the latest prices. You can also delete individual entries or clear everything from this screen.
Troubleshooting
If you see a message that the extension was not detected, check that Tripdify Saver is turned on at chrome://extensions and reload the site. Usually the switch is off, or a workplace or school policy is blocking extensions. In an Incognito window, you must separately allow the extension to run.
If you see No channel returned a price, first check on Agoda that rooms are still available for those dates. A sold-out room shows no price on any channel. If only certain channels show No price, that channel simply has no rate for that hotel, and you can use the other channels' results as they are.
If you repeat comparisons many times in a short period, Agoda may treat it as automated access and respond with no rooms available or show a bot check page. If that happens, complete the check yourself in the open Agoda tab and try again after a short wait. Reducing the number of channels searched also helps.
An error saying the extension timed out appears when the network is slow or the Agoda page loads late. Close all other Agoda tabs and try again; if it keeps happening, toggle the extension off and on at chrome://extensions and restart the browser.
How to book hotels cheaper: nine steps for the same room at a lower total
The same hotel on the same dates can cost noticeably different amounts depending on where and how you book. The steps below are ordered by how much difference each one makes in the channel comparisons Tripdify runs. Working down the list usually takes under five minutes.
1. Compare the final total, not the nightly rate
The price on a listing page often leaves out tax, service charges, resort fees and city taxes. In the United States and Europe the tax appears at checkout, and in places like Hawaii and Las Vegas a resort fee is collected at the property on top.
So every comparison has to be between checkout totals. That is why Tripdify's result table sorts by total including tax, and the final total column is the one to choose by.
2. Check the same hotel on three or more sites
Agoda, Trip.com, Booking.com and Expedia attach different rates and promotions to the same hotel. Agoda and Trip.com tend to be strongest in Asia, Booking.com in Europe, and Expedia and Hotels.com in the United States and Hawaii.
Do not skip the hotel's own site. Chains usually give members a rate below third party sites under a best rate guarantee. After you paste a link, the panel under the result opens the same dates on the other sites.
3. Compare Agoda's card issuer channels
Agoda prices the same room differently through partner links for card issuers, airlines and banks. The gap is a few percent on a normal day and wider during promotions, and none of it is visible on Agoda itself unless you switch links by hand.
Paste the hotel link into Tripdify and the extension reads every issuer channel at once and sorts by total. A channel price only applies when you pay with that card, so set the cards you hold as preferred in settings.
4. Enter promo codes last, at checkout
Channel prices and promo codes usually stack, but a code carries conditions: minimum spend, billing currency, eligible destinations, expiry. When a condition is not met the code is silently ignored.
This month's codes are grouped by category on the promo codes page. Tapping a code copies it and opens the site, so paste it at checkout and confirm the total actually dropped before paying.
5. Move the dates by a day
In many cities shifting check in by one day changes the price a lot. Tokyo and Osaka are expensive on Friday and Saturday nights, Bangkok and Bali around New Year and local holidays. Each city page has a season guide.
If your dates are flexible, copy a link per candidate date, compare each, and line them up with the same dates view in your history.
6. Hold with free cancellation and rebook if it drops
Hotel prices move both ways as check in approaches. Booking a free cancellation rate first lets you cancel and rebook when a lower price appears.
Put the cancellation deadline in your calendar and compare once more before it. The extension's price watch re-runs the search daily and notifies you when the best total falls by 2 percent or more. Take a non refundable deal only when the trip is certain.
7. Pay in the local currency or the site's default
When checkout offers to convert to your home currency, declining is usually the better deal. That conversion hides an exchange margin, and your card's foreign transaction fee applies either way.
Some issuer promotions require billing in US dollars. Read the currency condition before using a channel price, switch the currency on Agoda, then copy the link again and compare.
8. Look for member, app only and secret rates
Agoda and Booking.com show some rates only to signed in members, and some deals open only in the app. The same page can price differently logged out and logged in, so sign in and look again before paying.
Chain loyalty programs unlock a member rate on joining and often add breakfast or late checkout. When totals are close, take the one with the perks.
9. The last checks before you pay
Confirm the room type and bed setup match what you compared, whether breakfast is included, the cancellation deadline and refund method, any tax or resort fee paid at the property, and the billing currency and card.
A comparison only means something when these five match. The most common mistake is a cheap looking rate that turns out to be a different room or non refundable.
Also worth checking
Check the room type and bed configuration
Comparison results are based on the cheapest room at each channel. The cheapest room can differ from channel to channel, so on the booking screen confirm that the room type and bed configuration (single, double, twin) are what you want.
Conditions that affect the price, such as no window, a low floor, or smoking or non-smoking, are also written in the rate description. Booking on price alone can land you an unexpected room.
Compare whether breakfast is included
A rate with breakfast may look more expensive than one without, but once you add the cost of buying breakfast at the hotel separately, it can actually be cheaper. Conversely, if there are plenty of restaurants nearby, the rate without breakfast is the better deal.
Whether the cheapest room on each channel includes breakfast must be checked on the Agoda page. At the same total, choosing the option with breakfast is usually the better value.
Book early in peak season, stay flexible in low season
During holidays, school breaks, and local festivals, rooms sell out fast and prices rise. In these periods it is safer to secure a free-cancellation rate in advance.
In low season, some hotels drop their prices as the date approaches. Keep your search history and compare again every few days to see the trend.
Read reviews, newest first
A hotel that is unusually cheap often has a reason. Read reviews from the last few months and look for mentions of construction, noise, location, or cleanliness.
Reviews of the same hotel are available not only on Agoda but also on the other booking sites linked from the comparison panel. If ratings are similar across several sites, they are reliable.
For Airbnb, look at the total
Airbnb's nightly price sometimes excludes the cleaning fee and service fee. The shorter the stay, the larger the cleaning fee's share, so compare with hotels using the total shown on the final screen before payment.
Paste an Airbnb link into Tripdify to instantly search hotels in the same city for the same dates on other booking sites. If the totals are similar, a hotel with breakfast and service may be more comfortable.
Look at flights at the same time
The comparison panel under the results screen includes flight search links matched to your stay dates. If you are browsing in Korean, the origin is pre-filled as Seoul, so you can check stays and flights for the same dates in one go.
Shifting the hotel dates by a day can make flights cheaper or more expensive as well. Set your itinerary based on the combined total of accommodation and flights.
Get eSIM and travel insurance in advance
Buying an eSIM before departure lets you use data the moment you arrive and saves the time spent looking for a SIM card at the airport. Most travel insurance products must be purchased before the departure date for coverage to begin.
The eSIM and travel insurance rows in the comparison panel link to options matched to your destination country. Taking care of them while you finish your booking means no last-minute rush before departure.
How to Split Travel Costs Without Falling Out
Money turns awkward on a trip less because the amounts are large and more because memories disagree. Here is the order that works for recording what you spent and dividing it at the end. You can do all of it on paper, and you can try it at the bottom of this page.
1. Settle three things before you leave
Pick one currency to settle in. All you have to decide is whether you are squaring up in your home currency or the local one. Skip it and the same trip accumulates in two units, which looks fine in the total and still leaves everyone owing the wrong amount.
Agree what counts as shared. Lodging and transport are usually split by everyone; drinks and souvenirs are usually not. One sentence before you leave saves the argument at the end.
Decide who pays first. Letting one person cover everything is easy to record and hard on their credit limit. Take turns, and just do not skip writing it down.
2. Write it down where you spent it
Memory does not survive three days. If you plan to catch up in the evening, you have already lost who paid for lunch, and that one item becomes the loudest one at the end.
Writing it down takes three things: the amount, who paid, and who shares it. The name of the item can wait, or stay empty, and the split still works. It has to be finishable on the spot or people stop doing it.
3. Mark the items not everyone shares
This is where splitting costs goes wrong most often. The taxi only two of the four took, the souvenir one person bought, the person who was not drinking. Roll those into an even split and somebody quietly loses a little every time.
The fix is simple: choose who shares each item. Default to everyone and remove the ones who do not apply, and that covers almost every case.
4. If you paid in local currency, keep the rate you used
Rates move daily. Converting everything at one rate from after the trip puts day one and the last day on the same basis, which is not what anyone actually paid.
So keep the rate from when you wrote it down, on the item itself. If you do not know it yet, leave it blank and fill it in later. Just make sure a blank one is visible, because an item with no rate is left out of the split, and leaving it out quietly means everyone settles for too little.
5. Make fewer transfers
For each person, take what they paid and subtract what they owed. Positive means they get money back; negative means they owe.
Then pair the largest creditor with the largest debtor and repeat. That finishes in one fewer transfer than there are people: three transfers for four people. Everyone paying everyone else runs past ten, and one or two never happen.
6. Make it come out exact
Thirty thousand won split three ways leaves one won over. Drop it and the total no longer reconciles, and a split that does not reconcile stops being believable. The problem is not the size of the gap, it is that it says the arithmetic is wrong.
Hand the remainder out one unit at a time from the top of the list so the total is exact. It is the same reason the amounts are never stored as decimals.
Frequently asked questions
What does Tripdify compare?
Two things from one hotel link. First, the same property on the same dates across other booking sites such as Trip.com, Expedia, Hotellook and Airbnb, side by side as tax-inclusive totals. Second, the prices hidden inside the site you pasted, such as card-issuer paths or member rates that change with the route you take to the same page.
Property pages from Agoda, Booking.com, Trip.com, Expedia, Hotels.com, Airbnb, Yanolja and other major sites are accepted. Whichever site the link comes from, the cross-site comparison appears; with an Agoda link the card channel prices are added on top.
Is it really safe?
Looking up prices means nothing more than opening booking-site pages in your own browser. Our server never connects to a booking site or acts on your behalf, and we never read or store login or payment information.
All bookings and payments happen on the booking sites themselves. Tripdify only compares prices and points you to the links. We do not guarantee the lowest price, that a card offer will apply, or the final total, so double-check the amount on the checkout screen.
Same hotel, so why do prices differ by site and by card?
Each booking site has its own contracts and promotions with the hotel, so the same room comes to a different total. How taxes and fees are added, the display currency and the cancellation terms also vary, which is why comparing nightly list prices misleads. Tripdify lines sites up by the final amount you pay.
Prices also split within one site by route. Agoda runs partner promotions with card issuers that apply only through that issuer's path; the rate and conditions differ by issuer and change over time. Such a discount usually applies only when you pay with that card and may require prepayment, a minimum amount or a specific currency, so when a card channel wins in the results table, check its conditions before booking.
What is a CID?
A CID (Campaign ID) is a number Agoda attaches to URLs to identify how a visitor arrived. Each partner path, such as a card issuer, a map service, or a search engine, has its own value.
Depending on the terms agreed with each partner, Agoda may show a different price for the same hotel and the same dates. Tripdify opens the page with each CID in turn to see which path is actually cheapest.
What if I do not have that card?
Choose a channel in the results table that is not marked Card payment required. General channels have no restriction on payment method, so you can book at the displayed price with any card.
In card channel settings, turning off Search for card issuer channels you do not have keeps the results concise and shortens the comparison.
Why is the actual booking price different from the comparison?
Hotel prices and room availability change in real time. Results reflect the moment of the search and can change within minutes, and they fluctuate more often for popular hotels and in peak season.
The amount at checkout can also change with your login status, currency, and whether a coupon is applied. The comparison is based on the cheapest room, so choosing a different room type naturally gives a different price. Right before booking, use Search again to confirm the latest price.
Can I use it on mobile?
Mobile browsers cannot install extensions, so automatic price comparison is only available on a PC. On mobile, use Link-only mode to get the channel links and open them yourself.
If you run a comparison on your PC and send a share link to your phone, you can open the results screen and tap the booking links while on the go.
Can I share results with other people?
Click Share results on the results screen to copy a link. The result data travels inside the link, so it is not stored on our server, and the recipient can view the same screen without the extension.
The shared screen notes that prices are as of the time of sharing. If the recipient wants to book, they should click Search again from the link to confirm the latest prices.
Why is there no channel comparison for Booking.com or Airbnb links?
Prices that vary by path through a CID are specific to how Agoda works. Booking.com, Trip.com, Expedia, and Airbnb have no such channel distinction, so there are simply no channels to compare.
That is why pasting a link from one of those sites immediately shows a comparison panel for finding the same property on other booking sites instead of a channel table. Booking.com and Airbnb links also carry no affiliate tracking.
How do you get prices from other sites?
We look up the lowest total for the same property and the same dates using Hotellook data, which aggregates rates from many booking sites. The line saying how much other sites start from appears on the results screen only when this lookup is available.
Because these are values indexed by Hotellook, they can differ from the checkout screen on the actual site. Follow the link under the line, then confirm the room conditions and the final amount before booking.
How are currencies and exchange rates handled?
Results are shown in whatever currency the Agoda page displayed in your browser. We do no currency conversion of our own, so if you switch Agoda to the currency you want and then copy the URL, the comparison is done in that currency.
If you pay in a foreign currency, your card issuer's foreign transaction fee and exchange rate apply, so the amount actually charged may differ. Differences by payment currency are covered in more detail on the Booking tips page.
Does the final total include taxes?
Yes. The final total in the results table is the tax- and service-charge-inclusive amount shown on the Agoda page. Choosing by nightly price alone can lead to a larger amount at checkout, so sorting and the lowest-price decision are based on this total.
Some hotels do, however, collect a resort fee or city tax separately on site. Check for items like these in the rate details on Agoda's booking screen.
Does the cancellation policy differ by channel?
The cancellation policy belongs to the room rate plan, and the cheapest plan is often non-refundable. The Free cancellation mark in the results table means the Agoda page listed that room as free to cancel.
A channel without the mark is not necessarily non-refundable, so confirm the cancellation deadline and conditions on the booking screen.
How does this relate to Agoda membership tier benefits?
Because the comparison runs in your browser, if you are logged in, the prices read already include your Agoda membership tier benefits. If you are not logged in, guest prices are compared.
Comparing while logged in to the account you will actually pay with gives results closest to the checkout amount. Membership benefits, channel prices, and coupons do not always stack, so confirm the final amount on the checkout screen.
Do you also show coupons or discount codes?
When a partner provides coupons or discount codes, they appear under a Coupons and discount codes item on the results screen and the Link-only screen, and expired coupons are hidden automatically. If no coupons are currently registered, the item is not shown.
Coupons, card issuer discounts, and payment promotions often cannot be combined. It is safest not to use codes from sites of unclear origin.
How does Tripdify cover its running costs?
Some of the links on the results screen and in the comparison panel are affiliate links. When you click a link yourself and complete a booking or purchase, that site pays us a small commission, and the amount you pay does not change.
Tracking happens only when you click a link, and no affiliate information is attached to the background tabs opened for comparison. The details are laid out on the Affiliate disclosure page.
Where is my data stored?
Search results, search history, and card channel settings are all stored in your browser's localStorage. Nothing is stored on our server, and share links only carry the data inside the URL without leaving anything on the server either.
As a result, your history is not visible on other devices or browsers, and clearing your browser's site data removes the history as well.
Why does the extension need permissions?
Tripdify Saver uses only the tabs and storage permissions plus host permission for agoda.com. tabs is needed to open each channel's Agoda page in a background tab, read the price, and close it; the agoda.com host permission is needed to read the price shown on that page.
storage is used to keep the extension's own settings inside the browser. The extension does not read the content of any other site, and the data it reads is passed only to the Tripdify site tab that started the comparison.
How do I remove the extension and my data?
At chrome://extensions, click Remove on Tripdify Saver to uninstall the extension. You can also click Remove from Chrome on its Chrome Web Store page.
Search history saved on the site can be cleared with Delete all on the History screen. To remove everything including card channel settings, delete the Tripdify site data in your browser settings.
Which browsers are supported?
Tripdify Saver is built to the Chrome extension specification (Manifest V3) and has been verified on desktop Chrome. Other Chromium based browsers such as Edge, Brave and Whale can install it from the same store page, but we do not guarantee that it works.
Safari, Firefox, and mobile browsers are not supported. The site itself opens in any browser, and Link-only mode works without the extension.
How do I contact you?
If you run into a problem or have a suggestion, let us know through the link at the bottom of the site. Including the browser you used, the form of the URL you pasted, and the error message shown on screen helps us look into it faster.
When is the cheapest time to book a hotel?
There is no single answer. Book early for peak season and two to four weeks ahead in low season. Holding a free cancellation rate and rebooking when the price drops beats trying to time it.
Is Agoda or Booking.com cheaper?
It depends on the hotel and region. Agoda and Trip.com are often cheaper in Asia, Booking.com in Europe. Opening two or three sites on the same dates and comparing totals is the only reliable way.
Is it cheaper to book directly with the hotel?
Chains often beat booking sites with a member rate and add perks like breakfast or points. Independent hotels are frequently cheaper on a booking site, so check both.
Do I need a bill splitting app?
No. On paper, in this order, the answer is correct. Once you are past three people, though, working out who sends what to whom gets tedious, and that is the part a machine does far better.
What about someone who was not drinking?
Take them off that one item. There is no need to recalculate anything else. Being able to choose who shares each item handles all of these cases.
What if I do not know the exchange rate while travelling?
Write down the amount now. Fill in the rate later and the split is correct again. What matters is that the screen tells you the item is not in the split yet.
What if one person paid for everything by card?
That is fine. Set them as the payer, choose who shares each item, and it resolves into everyone else sending them one transfer each at the end.
