Aviasales
Flight search that includes the low-cost carriers
Aviasales is a flight metasearch covering full-service airlines, low-cost carriers and a range of ticketing agents at once.
When it is worth it
It earns its keep when your dates can move. The month view shows the cheapest fare per day, which surfaces the routes where shifting by a day or two changes the fare a lot. Accept a connection and the gap against a direct flight widens further.
Use it when
- Your dates can move by a day or two
- You will take a connection to save money
- You have not settled on a destination and want to start from the cheap ones
Choose something else when
- If miles or seat selection matter, ticket with the airline directly
- If your plans may change, an agency's change fee can exceed what you saved
What to check
The cheapest fare is often an agent, not the airline. Check the change and refund fees and whether checked baggage is included before you buy. Some of these fares earn no frequent-flyer miles.
Check before you book: Flights
- Whether a checked bag is in the fare, and what it costs if not
- Change and refund fees, and whether you handle them with the airline or an agency
- Whether a connection changes airports, and whether the layover survives immigration

Aviasales: common questions
What is the difference between an agency fare and booking with the airline?
An agency fare is cheaper, but changes and refunds go through the agency and carry their own fee, and even an airline schedule change reaches you via the agency. For a difference of a few tens of dollars, the airline is usually the easier ticket.
How do I know whether a bag is included?
Search results normally price cabin baggage only. Checked bags are added at checkout, so if you are checking one, compare the totals with the bag added or the order will change.
