Tripdify

User guide

This guide walks through the whole process of pasting one hotel link and comparing Agoda's channel prices alongside prices on other booking sites. If you are new, read from the top; if you have a question about one specific screen, jump straight to that section.

How Tripdify works

Agoda sometimes shows different prices depending on where a visitor came from, such as a card issuer, a map service, or a search engine. The value that identifies that path is the CID. Tripdify opens the same hotel page once per CID, reads the actual price, and tells you which channel is cheapest.

The prices are read by the Tripdify Saver extension installed in your browser, not by a server. Because our server never connects to Agoda, you compare exactly the prices you would see yourself, with your login status, currency, and region settings applied.

When the comparison finishes, we also show links so you can check the same stay and dates on other booking sites such as Trip.com, Hotellook, and Expedia. Results are stored only in your browser and never on our server.

Step 1: Install the Tripdify Saver extension

Automatic price comparison requires the Tripdify Saver extension. It is not yet listed in the Chrome Web Store, so you install it by loading the unpacked extension folder directly.

Type chrome://extensions in Chrome's address bar to open the extensions page. Turn on the Developer mode switch in the top right, then click the Load unpacked button that appears in the top left and select the extension folder you downloaded and unzipped.

Installation is complete when Tripdify Saver appears in the list with its switch turned on. Reload the Tripdify site and you will see an Extension connected indicator near the input box. If it does not appear, see the Troubleshooting section below.

The extension also adds a small floating button to Agoda hotel pages. While viewing a hotel on Agoda, click this button to open the Tripdify site with the current page URL already filled in. The button only takes you to the site and does nothing else.

Step 2: Copy the hotel page URL

On the booking site you want to compare, choose your dates and number of guests first, then copy the entire URL from the address bar of the hotel's detail page. The dates must be part of the URL so we know which stay to compare.

An Agoda URL looks like https://www.agoda.com/ko-kr/hotel-name/hotel/tokyo-jp.html?checkIn=2026-10-05&los=2 and needs the checkIn value plus either los (length of stay) or checkOut. Mobile and country-specific addresses such as m.agoda.com or agoda.co.kr are recognized as the same hotel.

For Booking.com, paste a detail page URL like booking.com/hotel/jp/hotel-name.html?checkin=2026-10-05&checkout=2026-10-07. For Trip.com, paste a detail page URL like trip.com/hotels/…-hotel-detail-…/?checkin=…&checkout=….

Expedia URLs look like …Hotel-Information?chkin=…&chkout=…, and Airbnb URLs look like airbnb.com/rooms/listing-id?check_in=…&check_out=…. Whichever site you use, any detail page URL that includes date parameters is recognized.

URLs of search result lists or map views are not recognized. The URL must be the detail page of a single property. If the dates are missing you will see a message saying there is no check-in date, so pick the dates on the site and copy the URL again.

Step 3: Price comparison mode and Link-only mode

The main screen has two modes. Price comparison has the extension open each channel's page, read the actual price, and rank the channels. Link-only mode simply builds a list of Agoda links, one per channel, without using the extension.

On a PC with the extension connected, we recommend Price comparison. On mobile, or anywhere you cannot install the extension, use Link-only mode to get the links and open them one by one to check the prices yourself.

Channel price comparison is available only for Agoda URLs. If you paste a Booking.com, Trip.com, Expedia, or Airbnb URL, you will immediately see a comparison panel for finding the same property on other sites instead of a list of channel links.

Step 4: What happens on the progress screen

When you click Price comparison, the extension opens the Agoda hotel page for each channel in a background tab, one at a time, and closes the tab as soon as it has read the price. Tabs opening and closing on their own is normal, so just leave them alone.

The screen shows the number of channels checked out of the total, plus the cheapest channel found so far. We wait up to 30 seconds per channel, and the whole run usually takes between 10 seconds and 1 minute depending on how many channels you search and your network conditions.

While it runs, it is safest not to close the Agoda tabs yourself or minimize the browser. Once every channel has been checked, you are taken to the results screen automatically.

If a search takes too long, stop it any time with "Cancel search" on the progress screen. Once three or more channels have prices, "Show results" gives you the partial comparison.

Clicking the extension icon shows the search running right now and how many price watches are saved, and lets you stop the search from there.

Step 5: How to read the results

The results table shows the nightly price and the final total for each channel, sorted from the lowest final total up. The final total is the tax- and service-charge-inclusive amount shown on the Agoda page, so it filters out cases where the headline price looks cheap but the amount grows at checkout.

The cheapest channel is highlighted and labeled as the lowest price out of the channels checked. The Savings value on each row is the difference, in amount and percentage, compared with the most expensive channel's final total in that search.

Rows marked Card payment required are card issuer channels. That price applies only when you pay with that issuer's card, so if you do not have the card, choose the cheapest channel without the mark instead.

The Free cancellation mark means the Agoda page listed that room as free to cancel. Confirm the cancellation deadline and conditions on Agoda's booking screen. The comparison is based on the cheapest room, so also make sure the room type is the one you want.

CID settings: choosing channels to search and preferred cards

Open CID settings on the main screen to see the channel list divided into card issuers, general, and reference. Turn off a channel's Search switch to leave it out of the comparison; fewer channels searched also means a shorter comparison.

Preferred marks the cards you actually hold. When several channels show the same price, preferred channels are listed first, so turning it on for just one or two cards you use often makes the results easier to read.

Reference channels are excluded from searches by default. You can turn them on yourself if needed. Settings are saved in your browser and applied to your next search as well.

Checking other sites

Below the results screen and the Link-only screen there is a panel titled Check other sites too. It shows links pre-filled with the same property, dates, and search terms in six rows: stays, flights, activities and tickets, car rental, travel insurance, and eSIM.

Stays link to Trip.com, Hotellook, and Expedia; flights to Aviasales, Trip.com, and Skyscanner; activities to Klook, GetYourGuide, Viator, KKday, and MyRealTrip; car rental to Discover Cars; insurance to SafetyWing; and eSIM to Airalo. If you are browsing in Korean, the flight origin is set to Seoul.

When a Hotellook lookup, which aggregates the lowest prices across many booking sites, is available, a line at the top of the results says how much other sites start from and what percentage cheaper that is than Agoda, with a link to go there. If the Agoda channel price is cheaper, a single line says the Agoda channel price is currently lower.

Prices on other sites are values those sites have indexed, so they can differ from the actual checkout screen. After you go there, check the room conditions and the final amount again before booking.

Search history and Group by stay

Every time a search finishes, the result is saved to your browser's search history. Open History in the top menu to see the hotel, dates, lowest price, and search date at a glance; click an entry to reopen the results screen from that time.

Turn on Group by stay to bundle searches that share the same check-in and check-out dates. It makes it easy to see which hotel was cheapest when you compared several candidates for one trip.

When you open an older result, a note tells you when that search was made. Prices keep changing, so right before booking, use Search again to get the latest prices. You can also delete individual entries or clear everything from this screen.

Shareable result links

Click Share results on the results screen to create and copy a link. The entire result data is contained in the link itself, so nothing is stored on our server, and the person who receives it can view the same results screen without the extension.

A shared screen carries a note saying that the results were shared by someone else and that the prices are as of the time of sharing. If the link was cut off or its format changed, it will say the share link is invalid or expired, so copy the full link again and resend it.

Troubleshooting

If you see a message that the extension was not detected, check that Tripdify Saver is turned on at chrome://extensions and reload the site. Moving or deleting the extension folder unloads it, in which case you need to load it again. In an Incognito window, you must separately allow the extension to run.

If you see No channel returned a price, first check on Agoda that rooms are still available for those dates. A sold-out room shows no price on any channel. If only certain channels show No price, that channel simply has no rate for that hotel, and you can use the other channels' results as they are.

If you repeat comparisons many times in a short period, Agoda may treat it as automated access and respond with no rooms available or show a bot check page. If that happens, complete the check yourself in the open Agoda tab and try again after a short wait. Reducing the number of channels searched also helps.

An error saying the extension timed out appears when the network is slow or the Agoda page loads late. Close all other Agoda tabs and try again; if it keeps happening, restart the browser and load the extension again.

Privacy summary

Tripdify Saver sends data nowhere except the Tripdify site tab that started the comparison. From Agoda pages it reads only the room price, property name, and dates shown on screen, and it never touches login or payment information.

Search results, search history, and CID settings are all stored only in your browser's localStorage. There is no sign-up, and we never ask for your name or email. See the Privacy policy page for details.
