Kiwitaxi books airport transfers. You pay per vehicle rather than per person, and a driver meets you in arrivals with a name board.
When it is worth it
It wins on late-night arrivals, with heavy luggage, or with three or more people. In those cases it costs about the same as the train or a local taxi but without the variance, the fare is fixed in advance, so there is no meter to argue about and no chance of being overcharged.
What to check
Check how much free waiting time is included if your flight is delayed. Child seats are usually a separate request, and some cities add a surcharge in the small hours.
